Princeton Environmental Film Festival

It's time! We are pleased to announce the schedule for the 2010 Princeton Environmental Film Festival.

The Age of Stupid

Our festival opens on Saturday January 2 and will continue every day through Sunday January 17, 2010. We are back again with acclaimed documentary films you have read or heard about and have been wanting to see, and we are also screening many new (to all of us) films, some from new and emerging filmmakers. Many of the filmmakers will be coming to the festival too and will be on-hand to talk after the screenings.

Our film festival has the same mission as before, to raise awareness, encourage discussion, and stimulate individual and community action for a more sustainable environment. That's the "lights, camera, action" part of it. It has also been important to us each year to listen and respond to our festival goers (like you!) who give us feedback on issues you would like to see included each next time around; so it is important for us to change and reach to try to re-frame what we think defines "environment" and include films and filmmakers and speakers who bring diverse perspectives.

This year we designed the schedule to present feature length films throughout the event, both day and evening, highlighting a range of the short films that were submitted to the festival this year.

We are also including three Saturday mornings of children's and family programming starting out on Saturday Jan. 2 at 10:00 a.m. with the Philadelphia Zoo on Wheels for an interactive program on conservation and endangered species. We are also featuring 10 weekdays of "Films @ 4" to reach out to high school students after-school, and our "Short Takes" short films day on Friday January 15.

So, please take a look at the schedule and check back for updates as we add some speakers and panelists to our talks at screenings and presentations.

The Princeton Environmental Film Festival starts off the New Year (well, day 2 anyway) and we hope to see you here in Princeton on January 2, 2010 and throughout the event, please make it a resolution!
